I am looking to upgrade the RAM to 16GB. Before doing that, I wanted to check both the RAM slots, (motherboard has only 2 RAM slots.) I placed the 4GB RAM on the secondary slot and the PC did not boot or detect RAM. Memory-wise there is one RAM SODIMM slot that supports up to 16GB of DDR4 memory. Additionally, the notebook comes with either 4GB or 8GB soldered to the motherboard. As far as the storage goes, you can see the M.2 slot just beneath the SODIMM. It fits M.2 2242/2280 PCIe x2/x4 drives. On the other side of the battery, there is a 2.5″ SATA. Welcome to the Lenovo Community Reezy! Although some G50 models may have two memory slots available, the G50-30 only has one from the information I am viewing. The easiest way to double check is to remove the cover and have a look inside. And yes, 8 GBs is the maximum you can install.
